How does the app work:

Hot Button:
The hot button is a way for you to track your hot flashes’ intensity and frequency, but it also
helps you to visually express how you are feeling. As you push the button, the flames around it
increase, and the phone will vibrate to respond to the heat you are experiencing.

An experiment of One:
The idea of the app is to run an experiment of one. You are unique, and so is the way your body
reacts to different things. The app will help you figure out what works for YOU.

Actions:
The app will suggest 8 different actions that have been scientifically proven to help with hot
flashes. You can choose to work on one of these actions at a time to see if that particular strategy
works for you. Alternatively, you can just use the app as a tracker if you prefer.

Cycles:
You choose the length of time you want to work on a particular action you have chosen. The
recommendation is 3-4 weeks for each action so that you have enough time to note changes, but
the ultimate decision is yours. You can reset the cycle at any time and start afresh.

Goals:
At the beginning of a cycle, you enter (1) what you are doing now and (2) the goal you will be
working towards. For example, let us say you currently drink 5 cups of coffee per day, and your
goal is to reduce to 2.

Mood:
We ask you how you are feeling every day. This data will be factored into the information you
are presented within the reports to help you figure out if the action you worked on was helpful or
not.

Reports
The reports will show the daily intensity and frequency of your hot flashes as well as your level
of achievement towards your goal. They will also show your mood each day. Data is presented in
two different ways, and you can choose which report is more intuitive for you.

Personalized Coaching:

You will get encouragement and support through personalized messages in the app to help you
stay motivated and on track.
